Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Research Associate or Senior Research Associate (from contract to permanent) to join our Drug Discovery team. The successful candidate will contribute to the advancement of innovative therapeutic programs by performing in vivo studies, collecting and analyzing experimental data, and collaborating with cross-functional research teams. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment focused on translating scientific discoveries into potential new medicines.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in vivo animal studies in support of drug discovery and preclinical research programs.
- Perform routine animal handling procedures, including modeling, dosing, sample collection, tissue harvesting, and monitoring of animal health and welfare.
- Maintain accurate and detailed experimental records.
- Analyze experimental data using Microsoft Excel, GraphPad Prism, and prepare clear summaries.
- Collaborate closely with scientists from biology, pharmacology, chemistry, and other cross-functional teams to support project objectives.
- Assist in the optimization and troubleshooting of experimental protocols.
- Ensure compliance with institutional animal care guidelines, SOPs, and laboratory safety regulations.
- Present experimental results during group meetings and contribute to scientific discussions.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Pharmacology, Animal Science, or a related life science discipline.
- 2–6 years of relevant laboratory experience in drug discovery or biomedical research.
- Good hands-on experience performing in vivo animal studies and animal handling.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Word, Microsoft Excel, GraphPad Prism and PowerPoint.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred:
- Experience working in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry environment.
- Hands on experience with different animal models and drug discovery studies.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis.
- Experience supporting multiple drug discovery programs simultaneously.
